Air Force awards KC-X contract
to Northrop Grumman/EADS
The U.
S.
Air Force announced Feb.
29 that the Northrop Grumman/EADS North
America team has been selected to manufacture the service’s fleet of new
aerial refueling tankers.
In a $35 billion, 15-year initial contract, Northrop
Grumman/EADS will recapitalize the Air Force’s aging KC-135 tanker fleet with
179 new KC-45As.
