Latex allergies are becoming more of a health issue for those
who are exposed to latex on a regular basis.
Those who are at
the highest risk are health care workers, and other
professionals who are required to use latex in their daily
routines.
The most common types of reaction to latex are skin irritation
which produces dry, itchy and inflamed areas on the skin that
was in contact with the latex and is thought to be a reaction to
the latex and the powder that is used to line the gloves.
This
type of reaction is not considered to be an allergy, but a side
effect of using latex gloves for large amount of their work day.
Another type of reaction is developing sensitivity to the chemicals that are used in the manufacturing of
latex gloves, this will usually occur in people who wear latex gloves for a prolonged period of time or
have sensitivity to any of the other chemicals used in the manufacturing of latex glove
