In October 2004, the Coordination Action on Ocean Energy was launched, cofinanced by the European Commission under the Renewable Energy Technologies
priority within the 6th Framework programme.
The project involves 40 partners
from 12 countries within Europe and one partner from Canada.
Objectives and problems to be solved
The main objective of CA-OE is to promote and disseminate the knowledge on
the Ocean Energy Technologies presently being prototype-tested or developed
at a more fundamental level.
Further objectives are:
_ To unite and enable close cooperation between developers and other
interested European parties in the sector of Ocean Energy.
_ To develop a common knowledge base for coherent development of
R&D policies
_ To yield a coordinated approach within key areas of ocean energy R&D
_ To provide a forum for the longer term marketing of promising research
deliverables

for monitoring and presenting
