1 EDITOR’S WELCOME EDITOR’S WELCOME Welcome to the May Edition of the Musesheet. We, Hayley Milner and Sarah Ryan, would like to take the time to introduce ourselves as your new Musesheet Editors! Introducing Hayley: I’m a Drama/English Teacher in my 6th year of teaching and am currently at Marsden State High School, while busy studying my Masters at QUT. I am excited to be a part of the Drama Queensland Team and take on the role as Musesheet Editor. Introducing Sarah: I’m also a Drama/English Teacher – however I have taken time out to work in the Special Education Unit at Kingston State College. I too am looking forward to working on the Musesheet – it is ideal to keep me up-to-date with the ‘who’ and ‘where’ and ‘what’ of Drama. Both Hayley and Sarah would like to take the time to say a massive ‘shout out’ to Marion! This edition is packed full of dramatic awesomeness including interviews with Travers Toohey and Angela Betzien, a lovely tribute to Bille Brown, a generous sharing of drama games from Sean Lubbers and an introduction to the 2013 Drama Queensland Committee. I would also like to introduce you to Sarah and Hayley – the dynamic duo who will be taking on the Musesheet portfolio and editing this publication from now on. The holidays are coming and most teachers are running on the last reserves of energy provided mainly through the charity –drive chocolates that have been sitting on the middle of the staff room tables mocking them for the last few weeks. As the year comes to an end it is a time to reflect on the year that has been and the new one that is almost upon us – or just wishing the weeks away until Christmas. I hope you have found the Musesheet a helpful resource to assist you in doing the amazing and important work that you do.
